Welcome St. Dominic to the table!

Mixed olives, garlicky shrimp, fried baby squid, meatballs, and chorizoapas, traditional Spanish tapas, make for a delightful and satisfying choice for a humble friar's meal. Born on August 8, 1170, in Caleruega, Spain, St. Dominic is distinguished as one of the widely venerated Catholic saints, known for his profound devotion and teachings. I express my gratitude to him for the precious gift of the rosary, a cherished and powerful prayer in the Christian faith. St. Dominic, who had received it from the Blessed Virgin as a means of converting the Albigensians and other sinners, carried this powerful devotion with unwavering faith and unwavering determination to spread the message of love and redemption to all those he encountered on his spiritual journey.

Our Lady appeared to him, accompanied by three angels, and she said, “Dear Dominic, do you know which weapon the Blessed Trinity wants to use to reform the world?”

“Oh, my Lady,” answered Saint Dominic, “you know far better than I do, because next to your Son Jesus Christ you have always been the chief instrument of our salvation.”

Secret of the Rosary by St. Louis-Marie de Montfort.

“Never will anyone who says the Rosary every day be led astray. This is a statement that I would gladly sign.”  St. Louis-Marie de Montfort

My first vivid encounter with this beautiful devotion happened when I caught sight of my mother immersed in prayer, holding the rosary beads. Her unwavering devotion to Mama Mary shone through in her daily rosary recitations, leaving an indelible mark on my heart. Ever since that moment, I have made it a habit to carry a rosary in every purse I possess. These rosaries don't just aid in my prayers but also offer solace, as Our Lady pledged unique blessings to those who faithfully recite the Rosary every day. By engaging in the contemplation of the sacred mysteries of the Rosary, we are invited to deeply ponder the teachings of Scripture and immerse ourselves in pivotal instances of Jesus Christ's life, all the while seeking the advocacy of Mary. Let us earnestly seek a closer communion with God, surrendering our moments of happiness, aspiration, and tribulation unto His divine care.
