Mirror

I look in the mirror. What do I see?

A child, broken.

A sinner.

Alone and at times invisible.

How can you love me?

How can you care about the person whose face I stare at?

I felt this warmth take over me.

In a whisper, I heard Him say, “look again deeply at the face in the mirror.

What do you see?

And so I did what I was told.

I looked intently and lo and behold,

I saw Him staring back at me.

The one who gave up His life on a tree.

My beloved Jesus, how could I have missed to see the one who has my heart!

Stay focused on me my love He said.

We will never be apart.

O’ Lord my God, How great thou art!
